Here comes the bride all dressed in white...but her dress isn’t quite the shape it looked in the magazine. Have no fear, all you need is the right bridal petticoat!

This site was designed to make you feel less anxious and help help you choose the petticoat that will help your dress look the way it was meant to.

Getting married is (hopefully) a once in a lifetime event, so you may not have even known what a bridal petticoat was before you started shopping for a wedding dress. If that's the case, let's first get the terminology straight. You may hear lots of terms thrown around...crinoline...petticoat...bridal slip. Well, they’re all interchangeable names for the same thing: an undergarment that is critical to the way your wedding dress looks.

We’ll explain to you what they are and what they’re for. Most importantly, we can help guide you to choose the right one. You could even say we’re your fairy "guidemother".  If you're not sure where to get started, take a look at our tips on How to Choose a Bridal Petticoat.

Bridal Petticoat or Hoop Skirt?

Decisions, Decisions. Should you wear a petticoat or a hoop skirt underneath your wedding dress? Like coconut and banana crème cake filling, they’re not the same thing. A hoop skirt is an alternative to a crinoline. They ultimately perform similar functions, but which one you chose depends on your dress and personal taste.

A crinoline has many layers of fabric, while a hoop skirt is extended by series of circular frames made of lightweight metal or plastic. Hoops tend to do a better job with heavier, fuller skirts because they are more rigid.
